If you are self-isolating at home, it’s important to take care of your mental health and wellbeing. Here are our top-tips:
Positive routine: Create a routine and a daily timetable for yourself – and involve other people you live with.
Regular exercise: Go for a walk once a day (but stay away from others). And exercise in your home, such as going up and down the stairs, Pilates and stretching.
Stay in touch: Connect with family, friends and colleagues. Use social media, e-mail or the phone, as they are still good ways of being close to the people who matter to you.
Learn new things: Try reading more, finding new knowledge on the internet or start learning a new language.
Manage news: Stay updated, but don’t overload on 24-hour news bulletins. And avoid rumour, speculation and fake-news.
Talk to your family: Ask children what they have heard about the outbreak and support them, without causing them alarm.
Help others: Are vulnerable neighbours and people who live alone coping?
